Created in 1973, Mochima National Park covers 94,935 hectares of sea, coast and mountain in the northeast of the country. It takes in more than fifty-three islands and islets, a mountainous area whose exuberant vegetation plunges into the sea, and spectacular white sand beaches lined with coconut trees.
Why it works for your clients
The park lies between Puerto La Cruz and Cumaná. The former is a hub of modern tourist and business activity with important hotels and ports, and a vital entry point to the park by boat; the latter, a city of 250,000 founded in 1521, preserves a magnificent star-shaped colonial fortress with impressive dungeons, red tile roofs and eighteenth-century churches. Between them sits a coast most visitors have never heard of.
